Video: Is seminal retention really necessary for kundalini awakening?

Friday, October 21st, 2011

Many esoteric traditions hold that kundalini awakening is impossible for the sexually active male, or for the menstruating female, because of “energy loss” resulting from ejaculation or menstruation. Is there any truth behind this, or are these merely cultural taboos resulting from sexual guilt and repression? — Here is what KAP instructor Tao Semko has to say, based on the practice and experiences of hundreds of KAP Practitioners:

–From a live online video Q&A with Tao Semko on kundalini and Dr. Glenn J. Morris’s Improved Kundalini Awakening Process.

Tao Semko is teaching the KAP Level One workshop in San Diego, California next week, on Oct 29 and 30th…

Kundalini: along the Thrusting Vessel in Chinese Medicine

Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011

KAP instructor Tao Semko, from a 2010 online Q&A on kundalini…

The lower extent of the Thrusting Vessel, also known as the Penetrating Vessel, or Chong Mai (image) in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, begins as the primary pathway for the electrical signals created during internal alchemy practices or kundalini practices. In many spontaneous kundalini risings, kundalini follows the thrusting vessel to its apex, and then subsides, creating a brief but powerful experience with little permanent change in consciousness. However, steady practitioners of internal alchemy or kundalini meditation gradually awaken a more straight, direct, vertical pathway, which sanskrit calls Sushumna Nadi (image), and Chinese internal martial artists and alchemical practitioners refer to as the Taiji Pole (image), the true vertical axis of the body.

It is this “adjusted” penetrating vessel / pathway of electrical activity in the body direct from bottom to top, using both spinal nerves and vagus nerves, that allows for the opening of feelings of enormous compassion, love, and connection from the heart/thymus, as well as feelings of oneness and cosmic consciousness from the core areas of the brain. This rewired neural/endocrine network is achieved and strengthened through movement of breath and placement of sensory awareness along its length, with intentional amplification of sensation and emotion.

The continued processes and realizations in alchemical and esoteric yoga traditions after the initial upward re-wiring of this pathway for kundalini may follow more curvilinear, feminine pathways back down and around the body as those “cosmic” experiences are reintegrated with more human and mundane experiences, or may follow the same straight pathway back downward.

KAP is a simplified method that embraces the biological changes that occur throughout kundalini’s evolution in the body, and facilitates them for a faster, smoother, safer, change. It makes use of 5 prerequisites for a permanent kundalini awakening.

New sessions of our acclaimed KAP Level One online classes are available starting in September, with KAP Director Santiago Dobles, and KAP instructor Paul Densmore. Level One contains all the necessary practices for a safe, rapid, permanent kundalini awakening. Level Two classes also begin in September, with KAP instructor Tao Semko, and KAP Director Santiago Dobles. These teach more precise and more amplified ways of using the bodies systems, and integrating internal and external experiences of energy and consciousness, using the materials taught in level one as a foundation.

Combined KAP1&2 intensive workshops will be taught by Santiago Dobles in Miami in November, and by Tao Semko and Paul Densmore in New Orleans in January.

Kundalini, the importance of the vagus nerve, some correspondences in internal alchemy, and more…

Spinal curvature, the vagus nerve, the thymus gland, piercing the heart, and more…

Free Video: Indian vs. Chinese Metaphysics

Saturday, June 25th, 2011

Read a little about metaphysics and the subtle body model, but still not quite understanding all the terms being thrown around?

Curious about the difference between dan’tiens (in Chinese internal alchemy) and chakras (in Indian, Tibetan, and new age works)?

What the difference is between Kundalini (shakti) and qi/chi/prana (vital energy) — in terms of how they feel to the practitioner?

This video by KAP Instructor Tao Semko explains a lot in under 10 minutes…

Five necessities for a rapid, safe, and permanent kundalini awakening

Tuesday, June 21st, 2011

(part 2 of the video is below…)
Five Necessities for rapid, safe, and permanent kundalini awakening:

  1. Increased breath energy in the body, especially the abdomen and pelvis/ increased intra-abdominal pressure
  2. Sustained, amplified emotional states and /or amplified sense experiences
  3. Increased vagus nerve activity/ increased awareness in the central core of the body, from the perineum to the apex of the skull…
  4. open and intentional circulation of capillary blood flow, blood-born hormones, neural transmissions, cerebral spinal fluid, lymph, and breath
  5. Intentional daily repetition of the above 4 points together in one time period

3rd Free Kundalini / KAP video Q&A, January 2, 2011

Sunday, January 2nd, 2011

3rd free video Q&A session on Kundalini and Dr. Glenn J Morris’s Improved Kundalini Awakening Process (KAP) hosted by Tao Semko, member of the KAP faculty.

Answers to the following questions:
From Wales, UK:
“For quite a long time, I didn’t realise that what I was experiencing was Kundalini. This is because it is usually described as feeling like an electric shock or fiery current running up the back. Later I realized that there are people that experience the physical aspect of Kundalini in a similar way to me, ie more like a fountain of champagne bubbles moving in waves throughout the body. Do you know why there is this difference?”

From Nova Scotia, Canada:
“Tao, When I first started practicing KAP I had a lot of very blissful experiences. It was very obvious that something powerful was happening in my body. now when I meditate, it doesn’t feel like the incredible earth shattering progress I was experiencing at first. I’ve also developed some tension or pressure in my Xiphoid process. does this mean the energy is blocked? I also have some other more general questions… what exactly does increased intra-abdominal pressure mean? is it possible to have kundalini active in certain chakras but not others? what is the experiential difference between a kundalini awakening and a kundalini rising? Thank you very much Tao”

From New York, USA:

“Question for the Q&A: Hi Tao, I am an avid “Astral Projector/Out of Body” practitioner. It has been said by some that the most conductive state of concsiousness to be in in order to experience an “out of body experience” is in a trance or from a position of “mind awake/body asleep”. I’m wondering if Kundalini is experienced in the same state or is Kundalini something that is capable of being experienced outside of a meditative state, in a layer of awareness closer to a waking state? Also, if you have time for a second question: If Kundalini is experienced in a trance state, which can be considered by some to have a high degree of psychological plasticity at times,In your experience do you think of Kundalini as a sentient being or is it a phenomenon created by the seeker, over time, in a state of consciousness that has a high degree of psychological plasticity?”

From Oulu, Finland:
“Hi Tao, these are some of the questions that I’ve been thinking about lately:
1. How big a role does diet play in spiritual (kundalini) cultivation? What kind of diets boost progress and what kind of diets hinder it?
2. Is it possible to awaken kundalini just by doing lots of normal concentration meditation on e.g. the breath?
3. How is kundalini related to the four jhanas of buddhism?”

Regrettably, the recording ended abruptly during the answer to question 1 from Finland., and the answers to 2 and 3 were thus cut off… –Tao Semko
